Reported Results:

Findings indicate that spent gypsum from in-situ “ditch filters” could be applied at realistic rates to nearby fields without substantially changing the soil P concentrations and forms. The spent gypsum does not appear to be a viable fertilizer source of P since it does not appear to be very labile, but it would not pose an environmental risk of highly soluble P available for loss in surface or sub-surface discharges.
