Sulfur is a nutrient that’s sometimes overlooked but often lacking in levels needed to maximize yields, says Ron Chamberlain, lead agronomist for GYPSOIL brand gypsum. For every 10 pounds of nitrogen that a corn crop needs, it also needs a pound of sulfur. GYPSOIL supplies readily available sulfate sulfur so spring applications can be highly beneficial to avoid sulfur deficiencies in this growing season.

A rigorous new study conducted by two highly respected agricultural economists brings to light the top reasons crop growers apply agricultural gypsum. Long-term gypsum users report more than 5:1 or higher returns for every dollar worth of gypsum applied to alfalfa and 2:1 or higher for corn.
